Able Deen Shopmobility will be at Turriff Show again!

31st July and 1st August, 2022

Its been a couple of years since Turriff Show was able to go ahead, and we are delighted that it is back and that we are part of it.

Able Deen Shopmobility will be there both days, with wheelchairs and scooters to help you access all areas of the show.

Booking in advance is recommended which you can do by calling 01224 254338 (Tuesday – Sat 10am – 5pm) or email  shopmobility.abledeen@gmail.com

It’s a snip at £10 per day! (cash only).

We at Able Deen Shopmobility will do whatever we can to help you get out and about.  

Since opening in 1992, it has been the mission of Shopmobility Aberdeen to ensure every person living, visiting or working in Aberdeen has access to all the city offers regardless of age, physical disability, sensory impairment, developmental disability or their mental health and whether that disability is temporary or permanent.

Our aims and objectives are: 

• to remove the social and physical barriers to equality of mobility
• to create equality of access for all and to have local authorities and private businesses include everyone when planning their buildings, service provision and commercial activities
• to provide equipment and volunteer support to enable people with limited mobility to improve their access and ease of travel
• to take part actively in local authority planning and consultations to ensure that the needs of people with barriers to their mobility are respected and their requirements acted upon 
• to seek out those who are socially isolated and provide them with the support they need to reintegrate with their communities, take part in social activities, participate in civic life and live independently in their own homes for as long as possible. 

All this boils down to one thing, tell us what you need and would like, and if we can make it happen, then we will.

Thanks to our friends at Union Square, our office has had a beautiful, colourful makeover.

Not only that, some of the most beautiful and iconic of Aberdeen’s buildings (and we have a lot of them) have been given centre stage and a colourful makeover, reinforcing our love for our city and hopefully suggesting places for people to visit when they are out and about with our mobility equipment and volunteers..

At our Annual General Meeting, members agreed to change from Shopmobility Aberdeen to Able Deen.  They felt that this name was more in keeping with our ethos and values, had more energy and vitality and will allow us to attract more people who could make good use of our services.

Rest assured, you will still receive the same services and customer care that you have come to expect from Shopmobility Aberdeen, only under a new, exciting and cheerier brand.

Thank you Shopmobility Aberdeen for seeing us through the last 29 years, here’s to our new name and look taking us through the next 29 and beyond.
